The Chapel of Broken Things

Synopsis

The Chapel of Broken Things stores and catalogues broken and discarded household items which would have otherwise been fly tipped or sent to landfill. Workshop spaces allow people to create ‘new’ composite furniture pieces collaging these old, unwanted household items together.  The architecture of the centre reflects this circular economy concept by using demolished building materials from Chatham Intra. The design also reinstates an original Wesleyan chapel that sits at the back of the site, creating a landmark to draw people down Intra’s High Street.
