INTRA
Research concerning the future of Chatham Intra led by the
School of Architecture Design and Planning, University of Kent
In association with Medway Council and Historic England
Before my masters, I studied at De Montfort University where I split my time between studying architecture and going for early runs along the River Soar. I have always liked solving logical problems which is where I get my interest in maths, physics and puzzles such as Rubik’s cubes. As a student, I have always tried drawing inspiration from the history of my site. Often, I will find obscure historical events which are used as a key driver in my designs.
This extension to the existing INTRA Community Arts provides a gallery and studio space for watercolour artists. A linear space takes the visitor on a journey of the production of a watercolour painting, starting with development sketches, up to the production of paper and the water wheel mechanism that lifts Medway river water into the sky to be used in the gallery.
